Ruger did that with their Blackhawk. It worked ok. Still, survey said, why? It doesn't do anything .38 wouldn't and didn't require an extra cylinder for.

Quaker.  If it has a swing out cylinder and uses moon clips you have one of the fastest reloads available.  9mm is usually readily available and cheap.  Great selection of self defence round available and no feed problems.  In the past Ruger has chambered the Speed Six and I believe the SP 101 in 9mm.  Just try to find a used one, let alone at a reasonable price.  Smith also has, I think it was the 940 and they may even be producing a 9mm revolver currently.

It is time to trash the marketing department and for them to read the philosophy of William Ruger!

It isn't about flash and market research.  It is all about building a good, accurate and reliable gun!  If your board can't sit around a table and come up with that you need a new board.  If your board sits around the table and comes up with a red and blue paint scheme that looks like a brush cleaning exercise you need a new board.
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

I would like that one if the colors weren't Black on OD green. The 2 colors just don't look good together in that pattern.

I will respectfully disagree...

I think Charter does put out a good, accurate and reliable gun. Also, as ugly as this thing is (and the other ugly special run guns they've done), I would bet they sell every single one of them. It doesnt take much extra time/money/effort to turn one of their of the assembly line guns into a "Liberty" and I would think there is enough of a market for these limited run guns that it is probably a small money maker for them.
