Obama Rated One of Best Presidents Ever - Better Than Reagan

By Noel Sheppard (Bio | Archive)

A survey of 238 "presidential scholars" released Thursday ranked Barack Obama as one of the nations's best presidents ever.

According to the Siena College Research Institute, Obama is currently in the fifteenth position an amazing three spots AHEAD of Ronald Reagan.

Imagine that: a man that has been in the White House for less than eighteen months and hasn't accomplished anything is considered better than the president that reinvigorated America after the dreadful Jimmy Carter years while also ending the Cold War.

Speaking of Carter, these geniuses actually ranked him higher than George W. Bush.

George W. Bush was no FDR, but Barack Obama could be.

That's the verdict of 238 of the nation's leading presidential scholars, who - for a fifth time - rated Franklin Delano Roosevelt the best president ever in the latest Siena College Research Institute poll.

In office for barely two years, Obama entered the survey in the 15th position - two spots behind Bill Clinton and three spots ahead of Ronald Reagan.

Yep. Clinton ranked higher than Reagan as well.

Actually, the details of the full rankings are even funnier.

For instance, although presiding over arguably the worst economic period in American history, FDR is ranked first in handling of the economy. First!

But to REALLY give you an idea of how biased and absurd these so-called presidential scholars are, they rated Obama ahead of Reagan in handling of the economy.

I kid you not. Obama was ranked seventeenth in this category, while Reagan, who started the nation's longest peacetime expansion in history, was ranked 21st.

Maybe even better, Obama was ranked tenth in ability to compromise.

Wouldn't you love to ask these geniuses to name some things Obama has compromised on since Inauguration Day?

For the record, Carter was ranked 32nd while George W. Bush came in close to the bottom at 39.

It really makes you wonder what color the sky is in the world these folks live.

I have nothing to say. I merely hang my head in shame at my proffesion. It has nothing to do with ideology either. Just what the hell has he done? Ok, Health Care, if it goes anywhere, will be a biggie. Right alongside the New Deal programs. But it hasn't been implemented and funded and might not be. Now its just words on a page. Ask me again in ten years. Actually, that's a good rule for these excersizes in  general. A President should be out of office for ten years before they are rated. Lets see how their programs worked before rating them. As far as Reagan, he takes a big hit across the ideological spectrum for starting the trend for massive peacetime defeceit spending that all his successors followed. The elder and smarter Bush? IMHO he is the most underrated President since Truman, and just as important. He oversaw victory in the Cold War without a shot being fired. The guy deserves to be lauded. Clinton, well he put liberal orthodoxy aside, said the Great Society was over, and changed Democratic politics while overseeing prosperity. Still, he missed a lot of opportunities to actually do something. BO, I close where I began. What has he actually done? Hope and Change? Well, I hoped for a change. New boss, not all that different from the old boss. Just sayin'.

Thats why I get the "big bucks". Ten pages on anything in less than 4 hours at a reasonable rate. One page? It costs a whole lot more and takes at least a day. ;)

Thanks FQ, your 10 lines actually make sense, and are for the most part, spot on....

Glad your Kool-Aid days didn't get the best of you....

Happy 4th!

Ah yes, the academic elitists at Siena College Research Institute, have the most potent Kool-Aid out there.

Have you looked at the staff of this 'institution'? They have a couple of PHd's (one in finance & the other in sociology), a BA & an AAS (2 year degree!!!). With credentials like that I can understand the ignorance spewing forth. It would be too easy to discredit these clowns - if anyone cares. I can start an 'institute' & surround myself with idiots & say anything I want - maybe we should form the 'common sense' institute & award ourselves PHd's in common sense. We could then pontificate on the ignorance of the public & the racial tendencies of certain blocks of the public. We could even tell the truth about these commies in this administration & propose their removal. I would prefer lead-poisoning for some, but only after they are found treasonous legally. Also to clear any doubts, birth certificates & school records etc will be required to prove innocence.

Then we move on to voting - WITH ID only!! and the disbanding of BATFE, DOE, IRS, Education, ..... get rid of all redistributive laws etc.........
