I have said this before:  Ignorance is cureable, but stupidity is frequently fatal.  Unfortunately, these people breed, and they vote.

The "fatality" as a result, is most likely to be my Nation.

Offered as an observation by a very weepy Crusader on this Independence Day. :'(

That was incredible. I'll admit the one about who sewed the first flag had me stumped so I had to look that one up. At one time I'm sure I was thought that, but I had forgotten that it was Betsy Ross. The rest of the questions though I though were pretty easy! Leave it to Grandpa to be the only one to know any of it, probably coming from the days where teachers could still slap their students around when they weren't paying attention!!

Dude! They use that picture in every boaters safety class ever taught. Do not stand up in a row boat while crossing an icy river! ;D

The hearts and minds of young people, ( Solus you are so right ) is the path, to enduring liberty, American History is not hard, once you can get people to honestly ask WHY, no matter their age, we do what we do, in politics and everyday life, Why do we salute the flag, why do we honor our veterans, why do we honor July 4th, and what is Independence and why is that important?  How not to repeat the bad history lessons, like what is being taught now, and with bho, at the helm, they stand to win the young people with promises of jobs, education and no consequences if they F up. The minutia of history can tangle us all up, but the meat and potato's is real easy.

It is hard to get parents to go to school board meetings, but that is what needs to be done, every time they meet, and if the board members are found wanting, throw them out and replace them with the type who will change the curriculum back to a more fundamental reading, writing, arithmetic, science and HISTORY. Although it might be very hard to find such people, who are knowledgeably and Want to serve.

Actually, the troops in Trenton (where Washington was heading when he crossed the Delaware) were Hessians, i.e., Germans, not Brits. They were, however, employed by the Brits, so we'll give you partial credit!   ;D
