I heard Elliot Abrams, the MSNBC llegal 'expert', say the sentence was severe for this type of case and that it was expected she would serve a minimum of 25%, more likely 50%.

I'll be hoping this will be the wake up call she needs to turn her life around.  That might be a miracle, but her picking up the soap for any of us would be a bigger one.   :D :D

Isn't it "automatic" for a non violent crime, that you get one day off your sentence for every day of "good behaviour"?   Bill T.

Not only will she not do 90 days, she probably won't do more than about 90 MINUTES.

90 days......hell, SERIAL KILLERS don't do that much time in the granola state!

Released within 2 weeks, house arrest for a couple more, have a B.S. therapy rehab, and will be hired for another movie roll within 6 months.

Photos of the actress breaking down in tears when her sentence was delivered also show a multicolored message painted with care on at least one of her fingernails.
Scrawled over a pastel background on the starlet’s middle finger are the words “f*** u,” made clearly visible thanks to photographers’ telephoto lenses.

Lohan's choice of nail design led to a sea of speculation into the starlet's true level of remorse and could lead to a contempt charge if the judge felt so inclined.
“She could have an entire extra sentence heaped on top of her current one. If the judge were angry enough, it could run even consecutively," New York City Public Defender Stacy Schneider told FOXNews.com

The judge would have to deem that the words were directed at the court and in that case, "the judge could hold her in direct contempt, which could be between three to five days in jail for vulgarity," Los Angeles Public Defender Greg Apt added.
The strict jail sentence came as a surprise to Lindsay Lohan, her attorney and her mother, who expressed her outrage while leaving the Los Angeles court.
"This is so not fair to do this to my child," a flabbergasted Dina Lohan told celebrity gossip website PopEater shortly after Judge Marsha Revel made the announcement.
The other half of the troubled actress’ parental unit, Michael Lohan, was concerned for his daughter’s health during her rehabilitation, which will likely involve using prescription drugs to wean her off of her addictions.
"These [prescription] drugs are killing my daughter and killing millions of kids in America, and someone has to stop it," Michael Lohan said.
"Lindsay needs to go into a rehab that takes you off prescription drugs, not puts you on them."
Michael Lohan, who had a notoriously fractious relationship with his daughter but reportedly reconciled with her in recent weeks, was himself jailed twice before - in 1990 for contempt of court relating to insider trading charges, and again in 2005 for DUI.
"I could imagine how it felt when I went to jail ... I used to look through cell bars and see [ex-wife] Dina walk away with Lindsay and [son] Michael in a stroller and holding their hands in the snow," he said to RadarOnline.
The former Disney child star must spend 90 days in jail and 90 days in an inpatient rehab program for violating the probation terms of her 2007 drug and alcohol case by not attending enough alcohol education classes.
Her skipping of seven classes at Right On Programs was a violation of her parole.
She must serve 30 days in jail for driving under the influence (DUI) and 30 days for reckless driving after her May 26, 2007 arrest.
The actress was also sentenced to 30 additional days for her second DUI offence on July 24, 2007.
She was ordered to surrender herself on July 20 at 8:30am local time and must wear an alcohol-monitoring bracelet until that time.
Various sources in the legal profession said it is unlikely that Lindsay Lohan will be made to serve her entire sentence, estimating instead that she would only stay behind bars for 25 percent of the time.

All surely possible except the work part.  Right now, movies studios have to "Bond" their actors and insure them so they don't bail out or otherwise f..k up production of the pictures.  No studio or insurance company will touch her.

As to ever working?  Who knows, she ain't exactly that good to begin with....certainly can't sing for shite...

That judge has got to be PO'd beyond the point of no return. This could turn it into a legal, cold war cat fight. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see the judge, (assuming she has the legal power), force her to do the whole 90 days because of her manicurist. This woman is beyond stupid. That's junior high crap.  Bill T.
