Who owns a Crossbreed Supertuck deluxe ?
« on: July 09, 2010, 02:06:30 PM »
I'm interested in getting an IWB holster to carry my G23 and this is the one I'm looking at. Any input would be appreciated; pros and cons.

I have one for both my XD 45 and my P-14, P-12 (same holster).  Comfortable as all get out, I found a nice location that conceals well.  You can literally wear it all day and be reasonably comfortable.  Mine are full cut and horsehide for additional moisture resistance.

I have a reversible velcro/leather garrison belt (Safariland) and use the velcro 'V' clips on the holsters - clips are fully concealed behind the belt. You can also play with the cant to get the best concealment for your 23s grip angle.

The only issue I had with the Supertuck was the clips 'creaked' on the leather sometimes. I fixed that by using double sided tape to attach a cotton cleaning patch to both clip's backs.

You won't regret purchasing this holster.
Anti: I think some of you gentleman would choose to apply a gun shaped remedy to any problem or potential problem that presented itself? Your reverance (sic) for firearms is maintained with an almost religious zeal. The mind boggles! it really does...

Me: Naw, we just apply a gun-shaped remedy to those extreme life threatening situations that call for it. All the less urgent problems we're willing to discuss.

I own one for my M&P9c. It is the one I wear the most, when I'm not carrying my LCP. I like it, for the most part. Being more, shall we say, pear shaped, it might be a little to tall above the gun and rubs into my side (love handles  ;D). I also have a High Noon, and a Blade Tech and I like them as well. I wear the Crossbreed the most when it is warmer and I'm not wearing a t-shirt under my polo. As I break it in more and more it is getting more comfortable. I have noticed the clips that attach it to the belt snag on things like car seats and such as I get in and out of them all day long.

As I wear different colored pants (khaki, navy & black) and brown or black belt, I've noticed that one of my employees "made" me and preceded to tell the other employees, the blubbering idiot.

Less noticeable with a black belt and dark pants than the khakis I were most of the time.

I have one I use for my g19,oddly enough my taurus 709 slim will fit it also.I know it doesn't seem like it should but it does.I like it.This is the first time I've been able to wear an IWB,but its because I discovered Perry suspenders. Now I don't have to cinch my belt so tight. sj

I have one for a 45acp.  Interestingly, they're made open bottom so any size 1911 will fit from a 6" down to a 3" sub-compact.

One bit of advice: GET THE COMBAT CUT.  Without it, it's hard to get a grip for your draw.

I also own a MTAC, another kydex and leather holster.  One of them had a problem maintaining shape with the gun removed, making reholstering a problem.  I THINK it was the MTAC.  If I remember, I'll test them tonight.
