Holsters, us old guys remember
« on: July 13, 2010, 09:47:23 PM »
I have a lot of holsters that I love, but are seldom seen anymore, due to Kydex, still they are great pistol wear and I dare anyone to take kydex to a TX barbeque.

Home made on top and Ernie Hill fast track  on the bottom.

Milt Sparks, 4" N frame

Bianchi Chapman High ride and another Ernie Hill. The Chapman is timeless.

Bianchi Hemisphere, and I forget fast holster.

Safariland world speed holster for 2 1/2" to 3" kframe, awesomely fast, Ernie Hill fast track for my hybrid springfield P9.

My Safariland K, L, N frame speed holster, and home made, modified safariland break front holster.

I've taken the kydex. Oddly enough, no one commented. (at least while I was there). It might have had something to do with the Glock? ;D
FQ13 who also credits this to his kick ass pork butt. Yeah, wrong animal, wrong holster, wrong pistol. But that pig is damn good, so Texas loves me anyway. ;)
PS, I hated that holster. Secure yes, but it took both hands to draw the damn gun. It lasted about a month and showed no signs of loosening. Have they gotten any better?

FQ, take your Mom's hair dryer and heat the Kydex.
You can reform it as you wish .

Not holsters, but how about first generation speed loaders from Safariland?  Mechanical clips held them in place, until released by sticking your finger in the open end and pushing the button.  I'm still faster with these than the newer ones.  They don't rely on gravity to work, and can be used hanging upside down if needed.  These have been in my "box-o-holsters" for about 40 years.

Pioneer, being a revolver competitor, for 25 years,  I thought I had seen and tried them all, thanks for that piece of history.
