It seems like every city has its own tea party group. Why not Congress?

The first meeting of the Tea Party Caucus was held in Washington, D.C. Wednesday, followed by a press conference.

U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., organized the caucus "to bring Members’ attention to the cries of everyday Americans who are calling for fiscal responsibility, adherence to the Constitution, and limited government," according to a statement.

Bachmann told reporters that the caucus is not meant to speak for the Tea Party but rather serve as a "listening ear," according to Bloomberg.

Along with Bachmann, 32 other Republican House members are the first members of the caucus.

Six Texans, including locals Joe Barton of Arlington and Michael Burgess of Lewisville, make up the largest delegation in the caucus. The other Texas members are John Carter of Round Rock, John Culberson of Houston, Louie Gohmert of Tyler, Pete Sessions of Dallas, and Lamar Smith of San Antonio.

Sessions heads the Republicans' campaign committee for the House.

I campaigned for Pete Sessions in 92 and then 94 against Dem John Bryant, 92 narrow loss, 94 big win, Pete had some unknown to him big baggage, His father William Sessions was head of the FBI, and was anti gun, we confronted him with that, and he defended his father, next meeting, he said he talked with his father and had no idea, but He was not that way, We held his feet to the fire and got him elected, so far he has done a great job, I would like to see him replace Michael Steel. Funny thing is, in 94 they redistricted due to bad gerrymandering in the district, about Eddy Bernice Johnson, I wish I could put up a map of the district, at that time, it was so obvious it was not funny. We got Pete elected, but he was no longer my rep, job done well anyway, John Bryant was a POS.

Pete still sends me Christmas cards.

I know Sam Johnson's son in law personally who lives in the same house, I will call him and see If maybe Sam might Join in.
