The new Ruger LCP
« on: February 02, 2008, 12:40:43 PM »

Howdy folks!

Just returned from a Ruger Press conference.

Read about the new gun here:

http://www.downrange.tv/shotshow2008/?p=11

On this page, you can also listen to Michael talking to Ruger's Stephen Sanetti.

Enjoy!

That has to be one of the best looking light autos I have ever seen. If this is the beginning of a new era at Ruger they are headed in the right direction.

It's a little cutie.  It's not blowback either, so loading it with hot stuff won't affect it (I'm thinking .380 Mag-Safe and this will be a nice match).  Definitely a 24 hours a day piece, while still following the lines that Kel-tec stole from the PPK.

The gun is SO CLOSE to a Kel Tec P3AT that I wonder if Kel Tec is producing the gun for Ruger? Compare the parts diagram of the Ruger on the LCP site to a Kel Tec.

If Ruger actually is doing the manufacturing I would give it a year before I considered buying one. The debugging of the SR9 is still ongoing based on what I read over on rugerforum.com
