Ron Paul hanging in there
« on: February 02, 2008, 01:17:00 PM »
I just watched Ron Pauls speech in Denver last night on 9NewsDenver.com. I must say it was somewhat inspirational. He seems like the only candidate that is down to earth on the issues. He didn't hint around on his Second Amendment views. He is definately pro Constitution. He wants us out of Iraq, Afghanistan, Germany and so many other countries. He wants our troops on our borders and no-one elses.

He had a bigger turnout last night than Romney by hundreds. That was impressive! I still think if all the gun owners vote for him that he will have a chance of winning this election. That could equate to millions of votes. He's got enough money to get a good start next week and getting more all the time. If not elected, at least the more-of-the-same brain-dead ***hole that is elected will get the idea of the way a lot of us think.

Up to a point he is right about our troops overseas. The Constitutionly mandated job of the Army is the defense of the US, So he is correct about pulling US Army troops home from EVERYWHERE. However the Purpose of the NAVY/Marine Corps (and nowadays Air Force) is to protect US interests abroad. So we can defend the borders and STILL engage counties and groups over seas who need our military attention, just not on such massive scale, go in thump them and leave the "Nation Building" to the fugde brain do gooders in the UN. That way when they complain that we are leaving them to clean up our messes they won't be lying.
PS, I thought the SAC motto was "Peace is our proffesion, War is just a hobby"

When Pease Was all Air Force They had the usual sign out by the main gate, Underneath Peace is our profession some one ,(Probably an Airman) wrote in War is just a hobby. back in the 70's when We sold F-16's to Isreal they staged through Pease. Now it's only Air Guard refuelers with KC-135's

He has baggage like the rest of them , why can't the independent minded politicos be just for the constitution and not spout legilizing drugs and off the wall junk. It isn't just bringing home the troups and guarding our borders but you have to keep in mind they tried that before WW2 and all it got us was WW2, you can't just turn your head away from the bad out there or it will come knocking at your door with an AK-47 in it's hands. We have a lot of builtin memory lose in this country and our schools don't help by dropping history of wars and why they happened . Your doomed to repeat history if you don't understand it.

On the dope thing, It's pretty plain that the "war on drugs" started by Nixon is nothing but a waste of money. It is nothing more than another way big Govt. intrudes on private citizens, look at some of the search and seizure laws and forfiture laws passed "To fight drugs" but used for everything else. The only way to stop drugs is education as with tobacco and alcohol, Prohibition of Booze did not work and prohibition of drugs has not worked either. Nowadays it is a taxpayer funded jobs program for Cops judges and lawyers.
Also, If you reread my post I talked about bringing home THE ARMY, Navy ,Marines, and Air Force are still our projectable power.

I took the candidate test that is posted in another thread and Paul came up with 74% for me, then Gravel. McCain and Romey were on the bottom.
