Going off topic again, but I have a question!!!!

Army bases are called forts, and Marine bases are called camps. Correct? I assume this was done for distinction. So why is it that in Wyoming CAMP Gurnsey is an army base?  

Are you sure it is still actually a camp?  US Army bases were all supposed to be called forts starting in late 70's.

Camp Gurnsey is a National Guard facility, those are designated as "Camp's" as well, Like Camp Edwards on Cape Cod.

Fort Indiantown Gap is a deactivated Army base, they don't change the name, like Fort Devens in Ma.
Funny thing is , except for AP Hill, I've been to every on of the Facilities mentioned.

Funny thing is , except for AP Hill, I've been to every on of the Facilities mentioned. 

Camp Indiantown Gap doesn't sound the same, anyway.

I was there in the early '80s after the boat people trashed the place.
