Big Brother. Eric Holder, NSA, CIA, FBI, are given "free reign" to monitor websites....We know Facebook and Twitter were already on the list.

But Now????

White House proposal would ease FBI access to records of Internet activity

By Ellen Nakashima

The Obama administration is seeking to make it easier for the FBI to compel companies to turn over records of an individual's Internet activity without a court order if agents deem the information relevant to a terrorism or intelligence investigation.

The administration wants to add just four words -- "electronic communication transactional records" -- to a list of items that the law says the FBI may demand without a judge's approval.
Government lawyers say this category of information includes the addresses to which an Internet user sends e-mail; the times and dates e-mail was sent and received; and possibly a user's browser history. It does not include, the lawyers hasten to point out, the "content" of e-mail or other Internet communication.

Oh wait but there's more:

The investment arms of the CIA and Google are both backing a company that monitors the web in real time — and says it uses that information to predict the future.

The company is called Recorded Future, and it scours tens of thousands of websites, blogs and Twitter accounts to find the relationships between people, organizations, actions and incidents — both present and still-to-come. In a white paper, the company says its temporal analytics engine “goes beyond search” by “looking at the ‘invisible links’ between documents that talk about the same, or related, entities and events.”

The idea is to figure out for each incident who was involved, where it happened and when it might go down. Recorded Future then plots that chatter, showing online “momentum” for any given event.

“The cool thing is, you can actually predict the curve, in many cases,” says company CEO Christopher Ahlberg, a former Swedish Army Ranger with a PhD in computer science.

Watch your a** folks,.....they thought the Bush wiretaps were a "bad thing",.....seems the "Big Brother Is Watching You" mindset now has the help of Google, and the backing of OUR taxdollars,...to WATCH YOU,...and without a court order, can "pay you a visit" if you post something that "isn't right".....

I sense a very Orwellian feeling coming on,... >:(

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

This just a continuation of what was started decades ago. This is partly what I meant in another post about throwing out the Gambinos and installing the Genoveses.

It doesn't matter in a practical sense, any one who thinks their communications are "secure" is to stupid to live.
NSA collects all electronic emissions from this planet. The law prohibits NSA from examining most US communications.
Those get turned over to the British GCHQ under intelligence sharing protocols.
Think your special because "You use encryption" ? You're an even bigger dope, That soft ware's release was halted by a Court order back in the late 80's or early 90's until NSA had cracked the algorithm, and inserted a back door.
These people make their living breaking the codes of nations like the USSR, and you think your cheesy shareware cipher will stop any one with the slightest training ?

Hey, you want to buy a bridge ? I've got one I'll sell way below cost.

I was listening to some talk shows and reports yesterday that are typically very liberal, and they were talking about how Pres. Obama has solidified many of the practices that Pres. Bush had either started or expanded.

During the campaign I often said that the promises to do away with all of this were false.  I felt that once someone ... anyone got into office they would learn that they could not just eliminate or change all of this without sacrificing our security.  Guess what Pres. BHO has learned!

The thing that really bugs, scares, irritates, frightens ... me is that he talked so clearly about undoing all of this, and Holder ranted about undoing these "injustices."  Today they not only support them and justify them, but they are expanding these practices.  Holder has even changed he public comments to phrases like "If you understood," or "If you knew what we knew."  With such an obvious broken promise lie, how do they expect them to stand behind any other promises, like the one we all remember about "not touching our guns?"
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.
