A lot of people are unaware that a lot of different states do not allow you to carry any kind of firearms outside of your home if there is a state of emergency whether it be by a natural cause from mother nature like a hurricane or a man-made disaster like if you're local nuclear plant is having a bad day and you have to evacuate your house. Quite often when they declare a state of emergency it is sometimes followed up by martial law who is supposed to protect you and your family.
This is something that is not usually discussed when you have to bug out of your home and you might not even have your car or truck to use for transportation so you lose the protection of your automobile as well. And we all know how quickly that our government and local agencies respond to help us. we got a good lesson in louisiana how long this might take.
If there's ever a time you need to protect yourself and your family. Some states already took away our ability to protect ourselves and most people are completely unaware of this

I call BS , this was the case like what happened in Katrina. No more, most states have passed the law where you can carry.

Give a law or link please.

The Second Amendment Foundation is filing suits challenging North Carolina's ordinance, but as I have posted, after Hurricane's Fran & Bertha in the 90's....

The National Guard, Local Police, all wished us well when they checked on us at Carolina Beach, and we were open carrying (which is allowed), and even gave us some MRE's... and we were NOT on private property at the time.

Stand down 2HOW, dude's a troll.

If he is a troll, he is in for a rude awakening here.

Oh, and sweet1911, post some links, or you have no cred.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

I rhink this is the type of thing he was hinting about. I believe a sheriff in NC pulled the same stunt this year.

If not a troll, then my apologies. I haven't got a clue about the thread you're talking about Tom, but, not only have I slept since then, I've drank too.  ;D Hazerita's are hell on the memory! ;)

PA law regarding states of emergency and firearms

Quote
ยง 6107. Prohibited conduct during emergency.

No person shall carry a firearm, rifle or shotgun upon the public streets or upon any public property during an emergency proclaimed by a State or municipal governmental executive unless that person is:

   1. Actively engaged in a defense of that person's life or property from peril or threat.
   2. Licensed to carry firearms under section 6109 (relating to licenses) or is exempt from licensing under section 6106(b) (relating to firearms not to be carried without a license).

(June 13, 1995, 1st Sp.Sess., P.L.1024, No.17, eff. 120 days)
Anti: I think some of you gentleman would choose to apply a gun shaped remedy to any problem or potential problem that presented itself? Your reverance (sic) for firearms is maintained with an almost religious zeal. The mind boggles! it really does...

Me: Naw, we just apply a gun-shaped remedy to those extreme life threatening situations that call for it. All the less urgent problems we're willing to discuss.
