PLEASE Ruger, make a 44Special Blackhawk!!!!!!!!

How long will it take for Ruger to make a 44SPL. I get the feeling CAS will be a distant memory before they ever get around to making one.

I would buy one in a New York minute, and I know several others that would as well.  I have written Ruger many, many times over the years begging for a .44 Special on the small frame, but always get back a letter stating that they have no such gun in mind.  I would also like to see the GP100 or similar sized gun in .44 Special.

Why not just use the 44 mag and load with special?  I don't think the weight savings of 44 special only would be that much.  Or am I missing something here?

The current new model Blackhawks are built using the large frame. A 44 Special would only make a little sense if built on the discontinued smaller frame like the New Vaquero's are made on. Altho the 44 Special has a cult following it is a small group that apparently don't generate a lot of gun sales. Smith introduces, and discontinues, 44 Specials every few years. Ruger has become ruthless in dropping poor selling items so unless a distributor were to order a few thousand 44 specials it is not likely you will ever see one.

I am talking about the original .357 Flattop frame, which is smaller than the .44 Mag frame and all current new model Blackhawks (with the exception of the 50th Anniversary .357).  What you are missing is one of the best, most accurate cartridges ever produced!

I am with you.  Make mine the 44 special on the 357 frame.  Light, handy and easy to carry.  I will buy one.
