I have been considering an invention.

Wall to Wall carpet on a big roll.  It would work like the old cameras with roll film.

You have a feed roll on one side of the house and a take up roll on the other side.

When the carpet gets dirty, just feed a new house full by winding the dirty part onto the take up roll.

When you use the roll up, you get a new feed roll, attach it to the end of the old roll and feed in the first clean section. 

Send the old roll off to the factory for cleaning and rehab.

Some spin off technology would be gizmos attached to the ceiling to hoist all the furniture a few inches off the floor for the winding.

Not what the arkansas people say!  :P or is that the other way around?  ;D
