I'd almost guarantee drugs were NOT involved

Plus 1 on that.  Flight attendants go through frequent and random drug tests.  If they pee dirty, they lose their job.  Now, that's not to say some of 'em won't get pre-flight high or wired or loaded...  But in today's job market, it's less likely that someone would fly high.  Prescription drugs are something different but that's only a valid argument if the FA is actually under a physician's care.  But even so, if the attendant in impaired he or she will be grounded.  Of course, we have all heard about drunken pilots and impaired crew.  Still, even with booze the philosophy is 24 hours from bottle to throttle.

Good point CR, but I was thinking more along the lines that if he were stoned, he would have been better able to deal with the obnoxious bat by saying something stupid or insulting   ;D

PS. Had it been me, I might have used the slide 3 or 4 times, they look like fun  ;D

I must admit, that's one of the more creative resignations I've ever heard about.

BTW, if you need a job, I hear JetBlue has an opening for a flight attendant.
