Shipping back for service

Hay Guys, Need your help, I am going to ship my CW9 back to KAHR for service. But have a question, if I ship it back UPS do I have to declare it as a firearm, and put insurance on it? Anyone have any advice? Not real comfortable about shipping it, nervous something will happen. I live in Texas if that makes difference. Thanks in advance for your help; I knew I would find the answers here.

Go to the UPS website and they should have pretty clear instructions.  I would call the local drop off counter as well.

Shipping UPS is no biggie. My local UPS store won't do guns, I have to go to the local delivery hub. You have to overnight (or maybe seond day) a pistol. Insurance is on you. Its $100 free, beyond that you pay.

I had read that BATFE redefined transfers and now you have to do this through an ffl, call Kahr and ask them.

Couple of options, if you bought it from a local dealer, they "should" ship it for you.

If it's not a local buy, ask for a shipping label from Kahr, and UPS is generally more open to shipping. Like posted, the local UPS store can't do it. But the main hub will.

Get a return label from Kahr. Box it up, get a tracking number, and check it online. UPS will drop off a "slip" at your house, than just go and get it.

Been there done that, with my Sig556, Walther PPK/S, and S&W 1911 for some "upgrades"..

As m25 posted, contact Kahr, and get a Return Label from them,...they should have ZERO issues with this.

Every so often this topic rolls around.  The end result is commonly "either call the mfg. and work with them, or go to a dealer for that brand and let them do it."
