The "American Rifleman" series.
« on: August 26, 2010, 09:58:24 AM »
Hi;

    just a note on this series that is on wednesday nights. Since I see no area dedicated to this show, I just wanted to say that it is a "darn" good show. It has a lot of good info and subject matter in it. Now if The Outdoor Channel will only keep wednesday nights dedicated to shows like this , cowboys, the best defence , gun nuts  etc  and not have hunting/safari type shows on this night.

    For me I can only stand for so many deer/geese  etc to be shot on the same day.

    Let wednesday nights be special for other than hunting shows.   What are your thoughts?

There can never be enough deer and geese shot! God hating, Bible thumping, Islamo-facist, commie, right wing, libtard, oneworld order, racist, New Black Panther, Obama voting, right wing extremist, femi-nazis! Kill them all! (As long as its done in season and in accordance with local laws). ;D Seriously, I envy your complaints about the Outdoor Channel. I don't get it here. But, I do like to live vicariously, and while watching a show about turkey hunting is almost as boring as the real thing, I do like the safari shows as I will never have the money to do it myself. :-\ Still, I get your point, but hell man, I think PLAYING golf is boring, let alone watching it. Millions disagree. You've got to have a bit of change up in the line up. Tactical Mall Ninja part III starring Dolph Lundgran gets old as well. ;D I say be glad you get it at all.

There is no area for American Rifleman on this forum, because American Rifleman is an NRA product and not a Down Range TV product.  It is a good show for the most part, and we do discuss it from time to time.  However, I'm happy to leave it up to NRA to run that forum.

Second, Outdoor Channel does devote Wednesday night, from prime time till much later, to the shows you ask for.  Last night I saw a couple hunting shows interspersed, but it was a typo on the DishTV program guide.  I was pleased to find my regular shows when I tuned in!

I like AR.   I think the opening sequence with the morphing from Revolution to modern times is neat.     I enjoy some of the segments,  like this old gun.  The in-depth history behind the guns is cool.

Of course, realize that I have a time machine.    I rarely watch anything "live" so if a segment bores me then I just fast forward through it.

Of course never for any of the DRTV shows.
