FQ, I honestly think it looks like a combination of German designs, and the little slide grabs near the back look like they were copied from another pistol altogether.

The serial number seems to imply this was a production weapon of some kind.  I have to admit, this one is really starting to bother me.  My searchitzu is usually top notch - I've found nothing to match this.
Anti: I think some of you gentleman would choose to apply a gun shaped remedy to any problem or potential problem that presented itself? Your reverance (sic) for firearms is maintained with an almost religious zeal. The mind boggles! it really does...

I've searched the web for probably 8 hrs total on this - went through 95 pages of c&r auction thumbnail photos, checked ww1, between the wars, ww2 pistols from many different countries. This pistol has features similar to many of them, but none matched exactly.

I'm going to d/l your photos and bring them to work - some of the fellas may know something.

The NRA publication American Rifleman has a feature called This Old Gun where they research and identify the obscure guns of readers.  They do this for a living.

I'm not sure about that....very close...maybe even a handmade 'copy'...but there are too many differences:


pinholes are wrong on the frame near the trigger




hammer is wrong




slide is different
