This Just IN...EPA Rejects Ban on Leaded Ammo
« on: August 27, 2010, 08:56:44 PM »
Just came across the wire that the EPA has rejected a called for ban on leaded ammunition.  The decision that came down today thwarts environmental groups attempt to ban leaded ammo and lead fishing sinkers.

The agency's decision, announced Friday shortly after FoxNews.com published its report on the issue, sided with hunters and fishermen who had argued that the such regulations weren't allowed under the Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976.

I am stunned and grateful, that there is STILL someone in the EPA, that "gets it"...

Let's see if it hold true,..

We have to keep fighting the good fight, never relent, and confront the grass eaters at every op.

Of course, this does coincide with a 68 day window before an election,....Coincidence?

Here's the news release:

You'll notice toward the end of the document they are still going to review the petition on banning lead in fishing sinkers. I'm going to comment on that as I don't want these people to gain any traction whatsoever. I don't fish but I do support our fisherman.

Anyone know where the large lead deposits are and what environmental impact the might be having concentrated as they would be?

Perhaps using lead for ammunition and sinkers reduces the impact by dispersing it.

I guess that is not a likely scenario, but it would be interesting.

FWIW, the auto parts shop with the 5-gallon buckets of old tire balancing weights, and the local bait & tackle shop, know them well, buy them lunch, have a lead resource, Blue Press has the rest... ::)
