Skid lids!

I've always been a believer in the right of choice concerning helmets.
That being said, I had no choice in my state....however, if given the choice I would have probably worn my lid more often than not.
I wore a DOT approved 'skid lid' and when I got nailed, it kept me from suffering any long term ill effects.

"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

I feel the same way about seat belts. While I wear mine every time I'm in a vehicle, I do not believe that the government has the right or the authority to tell me that I HAVE to, and then punish me if I don't. I'm an adult and can make my own choices. You can argue about insurance premiums all you want, but the bottom line is that my choice to wear a seat belt, or a helmet for that matter only puts ME at higher risk. It harms no one else. Isn't that what personal freedom is all about?

I had a sister in-law that worked as a nurse in an ER in a college town.  Every time she saw a rider without a helmet she would say "There goes another organ donor."

Just because it is the smart thing to do doesn't mean the state can make it the law.  Well, unless you're talking about seat belts.   ::)

Hey Peg, isn't that the latest quote from Gary Busey?    ??? ;D

"Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learnt something from yesterday."

Here is my deal with helemts and seat belts.

If you don't want to wear one, fine, but you get zero help from the goverment, if you don't wear one.

I mean zero.

Sadly that does not happen, so the only pratical solution is to make it a requirement.

driving is a privlage, not a right.

I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.

TAB,
I think it is time for you to either update the quote in your signature or change you avatar to make it applicable again.  Just trying to help a brother, ya know.   ;D

Personally, I ALWAYS wore a helmet when the wife was around.

It was the only way I could hear my tunes over my Harley buddy's bikes and the wife's "suggestions".   ;D
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!

That's why you carry insurance. Apparently no one reads their policies anymore. You have medical coverage included with your vehicle insurance if your injuries are from the operation of that vehicle. The government has nothing to do with it.
