I just wanted to follow-up on this week's podcast show. The part about were Michael Bane talks about Ted Nugent and himself not being "so nice." And the part about his experience of getting further by being "more in your face" about guns. I have to say that I mostly agree with that, because I too have seen better results by being more direct to the point. It seems like people are actually more interested in hearing what you have to say, as opposed to ah yah.. same old nice blah..blah.. // And I don't condone being beligerent or shouting at people etc. I mean within reason.
However, when people have questioned me about my guns and the fact that I carry most everywhere I go,
I always point out that I carry for self defense and protection. Not for hunting! Although I do hunt some. My primary reason for owning a gun is for protection! All these crazy people and politicians say..."you don't need a gun like that for hunting purposes." YEP!! your right I don't. I need it because, "
the right to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." What part of that is confusing?
That means far more to me than just hunting. I think that guns owners need to
voice those concerns often and frequently, so that the anti-gunners know that this is just not about hunting. i.e. target shooting/practice and safety/historic collecting/hunting/self defense/ or what have you.. Then maybe we can reverse some of their "anti-gun propoganda" with some of our own "Truth." The more they lie.. the more we speak the truth!.. Or at least that is my take..
