As many of you know, I was very involved in Politics in 92 and 94 when in my opinion we took things back over, unfortunately, we sucked, we did not have the stomach to turn things around, and that's how we arrived at where we are, BUT I attended a seminar, and this guy was good and relates to this post. His background was JAG, and he wrote and interpreted treaties and Gov't documents, He said, words have meanings, and when you go looking up law, don't go Webster, all law is interpreted by Blacks dictionary. His advice and suggestions which worked at least in one TX Situation, The Gov't has no jurisdiction in any place that has not been ceded to them, ceded means, the 1st party gives the 2nd party power over a particular spot of land, and the 2nd party accepts it, IN WRITING, this is not what happens, the Gov't uses the Interstate commerce clauses, to get us to do and not do what we want.  His advice was, swear every county, city, township, official from mayor to dog catcher, to swear to defend the constitution, and when the Fed steps in, and not necessarily the Fed, local officials, arrest them, of course if they are in the wrong, you will get a pumped stomach and chest, fed on your head telling you, this cannot be done, but if you keep arresting them, they back off. This actually happened in Jefferson Davis county TX,  Same thing with politicians, arrest them and they get tame pretty quick, but you need a DA, Chief of Police or Sheriff with backbone. And a city council and mayor with the same grit.

Once again, the County Sheriff is the final authority in his county.

Sheriff Mack has been working to educate Sheriffs around the country.  He was another AZ Sheriff who stood up to and faced down the Feds all the way to a Supreme Court decision in his favor.

I find it hard to believe that a County with such an historic name  could possibly be at odds with the Federal Gov. I'm SHOCKED !

I just read 20 minutes worth of SCOTUS, now will some one please give me the Clif Notes.

Part of the implementation of the Brady Bill required Chief Law Enforcement Officer, who is the Sheriff of a county, to perform a background check within 5 days to satisfy the Brady background check until the Online system was operational.

Mack and other Sheriffs filed suit that they were unconstitutionally being placed in Federal Service by this requirement.  After the usual court drama it ended at the SCOTUS.  They ruled in favor of Mack and the other Sheriffs based upon the 10th Amendment.

I have read Mack's book The County Sheriff  America's Last Hope

Mack has been visiting as many County Sheriffs as he can with his "No Sheriff Left Behind" campaign to be sure every Sheriff has a copy of that book and understands the true duties and responsibilities of the County Sheriff.  His book talks about how many LEOs have forgotten their oath to uphold the Constitution and protect the Citizens.  Instead, he says, they  have become tools of the local and federal government to impose unconstitutional laws upon the Citizens.
