Phil, my own daughter wanted kids forever and was not able to conceive.  She had finally decided that adoption was the only answer until, at age 37 she conceived and now Jonathon Paul is nearly two (mid-December).  A week ago last Friday, Matthew David made his debut, so she has managed two kids in less than two years at an age when most would have given up.  While I wasn't privy to all that went on, I know she spent an awful lot of time with a fertility specialist, and her husband had many checks and test, too.  She said she had all but given up and decided just to enjoy her sex life with her husband when it happened.

The end result is that I have two beautiful grandsons.  And, my friend, that is worth waiting for!

So, after you have medically confirmed that everything is in good operating order, relax and enjoy the loving.  You just might get a little surprise.

Offered as encouragement by a hopeful Crusader.

that is cool and I bet they are wonderful parents

same for my little one,   would do anything for her

My issue   is the out laws

they are having no # 6 now  and the environment for the other 5 is not the best.    to have my own 4 year old tell us she dose not like going there some times because of how her Aunty talks yells and swearing at the kids  and they were doing nothing wrong.   hevan help this one.

and a while ago  we made the decision never to leave here there on her own,   we will always be around to go when we need too.
makes us sad, angry  and frustrated and if it was not for my Nieces and Nephews  I would of told them to GAGF a long time ago

speaking to the MiL  she is upset over it however was expecting it.

then there was the incident last week with my Mrs when she went there  really upset her the way they were talking to her

families who would have them

sorry for the rant    just a bit pissed off atm

Grand kids are your reward for putting up with your own children....I grew up with 5-sisters and then had two daughters...Daughters who have now given my wife and I two Grandson's.  Thankfully there is more testosterone around my house now. ;D

Yeah, Phil.  The other side of that problem can be worse than the side I described.  However, although I am not particularly "into" Eastern thought or religion, I do think there is something to the idea of karma.  People who treat kids badly, hurt them, abuse them...  Well, I believe there is a special place in hell reserved just for them.  If we're lucky, we get to see them punished before they make that final trip.

In one way or another that population issue has been a recognized problem for civilized nations around the world...  The more intelligent, educated and compassionate people seem to choose to have only one or two kids while the stupid, irresponsible and horses' arses among us have litters of little, stupid, nonproductive b@st@rds.  England is seeing that with their native Anglo-Saxon population being rapidly overtaken by minorities.  France will be unable to avoid a mooslim majority by 2030.  Russia is facing a similar problem.  In the US of A, the more educated among us regularly produce only one or two kids, while the uneducated and poor manage to pop out dozens of welfare puppies.  That is a generalization as there are some wonderful people with large families--but not too many.  It will drive you nuts if you let it.  All we can do is hope that Darwin takes care of the really stupid before they manage to breed.

And those anti-choice activists who demonize Margret Sanger might want to read Crusader's post.

The point is that we couldn't have our own, we couldn't get through the system in the county, but Lutheran Social Services was great to work with.  That is our daughter, and the fat old fart is me.

I just figured it went along the line of idiots being breading factories and good couples not being able to have their own ... these two are our own!  We just took a different route.

Two things that will get me more than a little irritated are "breeders" that think abortion is a form of birth control, and idiots that don't take care of themselves when they are pregnant.

Congrats on the kids and providing a good home for them. I agree with your second point. We'll agree to disagree on abortion, but if you choose to carry a fetus to term, you do it the right way. As far as abused kids? If you hate them so much that you'll abuse them, why not give them away? Plenty of folks will be standing in line if you do it while they are infants. Me I don't want kids, I just don't enjoy them. I am fine as a teacher/baby sitter/ scout leader (though that gig got old, plenty of funny stories for another thread). I just don't want one 24/7. Ergo, I don't have one. Its an easy choice to make. Why more people aren't honest enough with themselves to say "I don't think I'd be a good parent so I won't bring a kid into the world" I'll never understand. ???
