But I do have a question about your and Melanie's relationship. When we see those pictures of all the guns, are some of those Melanie's mixed in with yours, or does she have her own annex filled with her safes too?
"Hers" are all mixed in with "mine". We really don't claim ownership rights. Some were purchased strictly for her by me, and visa verse. It took her a while to get to like black rifles. Now she really is into AR's and AK's. I was the same for several years. She actually wanted to get into Glocks before me, but I just couldn't bring myself to buy a "plastic pistol". After getting her a Glock 21, the rest was history. We now have 6 of them. We seem to shove each other in the right direction firearms wise.
She's always been inquisitive when it comes to guns, and I've
ALWAYS made it a point to drop whatever I'm doing to answer any questions on the spot. I
NEVER blow her off. This makes her even more interested. Women love attention, and to learn. If you give them both you and her both will win. Her reloading knowledge is above some guys I know. The more she learns, the more she wants to learn. Too many guys think women find guns boring. It's all in the presentation. Like when you were in high school. I had teachers who could make the most boring subjects interesting by the way they approached the material they were teaching. I had others that could cure insomnia in 5 minutes. All they had to do was start talking. In the 27 years we've been together I couldn't even begin how many hours guns have been a part of keeping the both of us together. I think about that every time we go to the range together and see all those guys by themselves. They're missing out on a lot. I got the best compliment the other day, when I mentioned about her selling any guns when or if I died before her. Her immediate reply was, "Why would I sell
ANY of them"? Bill T.
