The whole state of Illinois is a "No Carry" zone, ain't it? It's a shame.

Gun control can only work to prevent gun violence if there are no guns.

No guns at all. None. Don't exist any more.

Like, No nukes.

Then we can all be prey for those in the rest of the world who deal in reality and conquest.

People who allow and frequent "hunting preserves for felons" knowing put themselves in the bulls eye. Are they suicidal ? Or just stupid?

At least they are not releasing the shooters name ----- so far.  And I hope they never do because that is what the shooter wants and what brings copy cats out of their rats nests.

just imagine if 2 or 3 of the students had been armed.  There would have been a different outcome.  Remember even though the media will portray the students as children they are adults under the law.  As such they are responsible for their own saftey and  should be able to defend themselves.  Also on an MSNBC report they had a rep from the Brady side talk about how there needs to be more gun control, but they did not have an actual person to represent the gun rights side.  The reporter just threw in a quick " pro gun people say this is why their rights to have guns should not be taken away."

Lest anyone think that all college kids are libs in favor of gun control  Check out this site.

Student lead organization.   Please support them!

The students are adults, granted young adults, but if anyone of these "kids" commited a crime they would face adult court and adult time.  The attitude of what can we do to protect them needs to change to what can we do as a society to give them back their right of  self protection and the protection and defense of their fellow students.

These shootings are not gun issues - they are mental health issues. The common thread in most of the more
recent shootings has been that the shooter has been under medical care and has stopped taking his meds.
One of the less publicized side effects of many mood-altering drugs is that sudden cessation of dosing will
in many cases cause serious thoughts of suicide. Why not homicide as well?

There is a catastrophic failure on the parts of the medical establishment and the families and acquaintances of the shooters. It's very likely that the shooters exhibited behavior that went unacknowledged and/or unchallenged.

A police State where unusal behavior becomes the cause of constant 911 calls is not the answer, but ignoring
these signs is wreaking havoc in the unarmed shooting zones. The anti-gunners think that a complete disarming
of America is the answer. It's not. Anyone intent on killing people will find a way. This same person, running through
that class of students with a knife in each hand could quite likely have caused more death and injury than he did.
But the focus is on guns, and those of us who own them are painted by the liberal press as being on the fringe.

The key is education, but how do we get it out there?
