Presidential seal falls off podium as Obama speaks

WASHINGTON (AP) - The presidential seal fell off President Barack Obama's lectern and clattered to the stage as he delivered a speech to a women's conference.

"That's all right, all of you know who I am," the president joked to laughter from the audience when he realized what had happened.

"But I'm sure there's somebody back there that's really nervous right now, don't you think?" the president added, referring to whatever staffer had hung the seal on the front of his lectern so precariously.

"They're sweating bullets," he said, laughing. "Anyway, where were we."

It happened about halfway through the president's remarks to Fortune magazine's "Most Powerful Women Summit" Tuesday night at Carnegie Mellon Auditorium.

Wonder if that seal can be rigged to fall off while he is speaking?

Had I been the one responsible for putting it on the podium, I'd have found a way.

Maybe we will see a rash of similar incidents....or at least videos of White House Staffers checking the Seal Integrity at future speeches.

Honestly, I don't think he cares. Being President isn't his goal. If it was he would actually do the job. His aspirations are much higher. He doesn't think nationally, he thinks globally. That's why he's so in love with the U.N. You can bet, that he and his cronies are trying to concoct a situation to where he can call for U.N. support to help us weather the crisis, and then just never leave.
