The AMG has always had a well deserved reputation , before the twin turbo 12 cylinder came out, they made naturally aspirated 600's that would do 180, and cruise at 150 with 4 passengers and the a/c on. This coupe is SWWWWWWEEEEEEETTTTT

Very cool. I particularly like the fact that it redlines at 8,000 rpms . Still, gull wing doors? Where the hell do you park the thing? Not that you'd want to, but it would be nice if you could actually, you know, drive it somewhere without taking up three spots and getting keyed, or parallel park close to a high curb and actually get out of the car.

Side clearance is less with gull wing doors and any decent performance car will have a low ground clearance making curbs something to avoid.

And any noticeable car is going to get keyed. 

I have long since stopped wringing my hands over the cosmetics of the cars I drive.  I love the performance and it is great if they look nice, but the looks don't last and torturing yourself over them is pointless.

A four wheel drift in a tight turn at 60mph on a decreasing radius enterance ramp is more of a rush than looking at a car can ever be...but looking gets real close sometimes.

The Mercedes SLS AMG is also the current Formula 1 Safety Car driven by Bernd Maylander. It really puts a realistic perspective on just how fast Formula 1 cars are. When there is an accident in Formula 1, and the safety car is deployed, Maylander is pushing it as hard as he can. In spite of that, and how fast the SLS AMG is, it looks like the cars are crawling in rush hour traffic in comparison to actual race speeds. The SLS AMG replaced the SL 63 AMG as the New F-1 Safety Car this year.
