I agree with a caveat. The downside of profiling is you tend to focus on the profile. All it takes is a white or asian or latino nut job without a muslim name to slip through. They have those. Search everybody.

Since the late 40's, the entire mooslim world has been out to get Israel, often by high-jacking its planes. They were successful at first, now, not at all. Know why? Because the Israelis do not hire minimum wage losers for their TSA equivalent, and they teach their security people to profile every damn person to look for the security risks. And they do it at the curb, not once they are about to go the plane.

The Israeli people are taught to identify threats, engage those threats on a personal conversational level, and then give a signal if they so much as believe the threat is real. BG is then whisked off for formal interrogation.

Result - not one damn Israeli airplane has been high-jacked in eons. Seems they've learned how to profile well. And we should learn the same lesson. Sadly, with the leftoids in this country, a dozen more 9/11's would never convince them to profile.

But again, El Al is a (relatively) small airline. You also don't book a last minute flight, and they are subsidized by the Israeli government. I would love to see their standards, but Delta can't afford it. Unless you want to add hight tax dollars to buying a plane ticket, neither can the TSA. It seems to me the plan is simple.
1) Profile. That's common sense, and I don't care if you get offended.
2) Search everybody, because a white or black guy with a Western name isn't going to fit any profile. These groups are recruiting in prisons left and right. Yesteday's car thief can become tommorows bomber and unless he changes his name to Abdul, you'll never spot him.

Path is only partly right, The profiling begins as soon as you book your flight. When they enter your info into the computer Mossad is one of the groups that look at it, quick background check takes hardly any time at all.
They also have multiple armed guards on EVERY flight.
