$1 million he won't have to spend on the Dailly Cos,  or gun Control. Same with the NPR reporters he bought. Not sure what to think of this since it is actually a sensible position

SAN FRANCISCO – Billionaire financier George Soros has thrown his weight behind California's marijuana legalization measure with a $1 million donation a week before the vote. The contribution reported Tuesday by The Sacramento Bee is the single biggest donation from an individual other than Proposition 19's main sponsor, Oakland medical marijuana entrepreneur Richard Lee.

Soros, a high-profile liberal and philanthropist, has long backed drug law reform. He was one of the top financial backers of California's first-in-the-nation measure that legalized medical marijuana in the state in 1996.

But Soros held off on openly endorsing the current measure until writing an op-ed published Tuesday in The Wall Street Journal. In the piece, Soros said legalizing and taxing marijuana would save taxpayers the costs of incarceration and law enforcement while raising revenue for the state.

"Just as the process of repealing national alcohol prohibition began with individual states repealing their own prohibition laws, so individual states must now take the initiative with respect to repealing marijuana prohibition laws," Soros wrote.

I can tell you one thing, if pot does become legal.  I already have a biz plan in place and have a hydro/aqua ponics guy that I will partner with.  We would make a killing of design and install of systems.

I could find you some good people to staff your "quality assurance" department.  Likely, would work for Oreos and ice-cream. LOL

Liberals.
TT, you give your fellow "citizens" ( I use the term very loosely since his constiuency, illegal's and welfare parasites, aren't really citizens, and liberals are "citizens of the world"  )
As an example : I have a co worker who voted for Obummer, and has been complaining for a year now, recently we got a new plant manager, he got us all together and gave exactly the same speech the last 4 gave, when it was over my co worker was all impressed, "Oh, this guy will change things" Ijust looked at him and said, "More hope and change Kenny ?" I watched him deflate, it is sad to see just how gullible these people are.

Soros would prefer the minion little people masses be stoned, easier to lead them by the nose....and controlled.

Cookies is probably closest to the truth, TW's theory is provably foolish. legalization had no major effects at the turn of the century when they were using cocaine to make soft drinks.
Most likely Soros is looking for revenue sources to continue funding the Mexican invasion.

Soros is just such a ligit straight up businessman, I'm sure he has no other motive...except more revenue... ;)

Neither did opium junkies infesting the streets when it was legal,...

I hope Kalifornia passes Prop 8, they deserve it.
