CT Concealed Carry
« on: October 27, 2010, 06:44:26 PM »
Well, after settling into the new neighborhood here in the wine country of CT, I've scheduled my CC class for submitting my application to the State Police.  I found an NRA instructor here locally and because of my experience (I think) and that I hold licenses in NH and ME already, he's doing it over three hours on a Saturday rather than the normal eight.  CT requires live fire with the NRA Basic Pistol Course.

He didn't, however, lower the course price of 100 clams..... :(

After that, I intend to re-apply for my non-resident MA LTC and the RI CCP and then I'll have New England covered from any angle...

Unless it has changed in the last few years, you will need to apply to your local police first and get a local "town" permit.  Once you obtain that, you can go get the state permit.

I thought the MA LTC was only for 'pretty' people. :)

You are correct about the town thing but, our town has one COP and he's State Police so I just process it through him directly.  The Police Dept is about 100 feet from my house...

As too the MA LTC, I had mine for several years but I'm "ruggedly handsome", not too pretty!    ;D ;D

I had to forfeit mine when I moved south but can re-apply immediately.  I spend too much time in the car here, blink and you're in another state!

Can you do something about the politics there???  ;D

I hear that Bawny Fwank is in for the fight of his life in his district up there.  Here, we're trying to elect the former WWE CEO to replace the crooked, POS Chris Dodd...

When Cris Dodd's Grandfather held that seat the Soviets approached him about spying for them because he had been so liberal.
