Hiring illegals realy bugs me, I could care less if you are paying all your taxs and the like, but hiring illegals, just ticks me off.

The ony thing I ever cared about my subs that had empolyees was they had comp.  Every thing else I could care less.  I honestly didn't even care if they had a contracting lic... I've been screwed alot more by contractors then I have guys that were just working for cash.

That's the part that makes it hard, a lot of the ones I worked with out there were hard workers.
But they AIN"T LEGAL.
Send them back, and jail their employer.

This is the problem. On a case by case basis, you get a lot of hard luck, feel good, Cinderella stories. Poor guy/gal flees homeland, works hard and does well yada yada, I don't mean to be glib. We ARE getting some of the most hardworking folks out there. Its why I hate it when anti-illegal sentiment veers into racism and nativism. The point is though, that when you look at the big picture, these folks do drag down wages and working conditions. Its not their fault. They made a rational choice to follow higher wages and a low risk of deportation. Who's fault is it? Ours. Why? because we don't enforce our laws. If employers knew they had to use E-verify or face consequences and LEO agencies enforced immigration laws and "sanctuary" cities lost ALL federal funding, these folks wouldn't come and they could improve their own countries. Every time I see an ICE raid on a plant with a bunch of Mexicans led off in cuffs I get annoyed. Why? Because unil that ICE raid hauls off the CEO in cuffs its pissing in the wind.I think that we need to look at it like the drug war. You wil never win it by focusing on the supply side. Unless you are willing to clamp down hard on the demand side you should sit down and STFU. This is a basic gut check question. Are we willing to put employers in jail, revoke licenses and employ RICO? If we are, we can win. If not? Press 2 for Spanish. l

From my exp, its not the guys that come over to work and send the money home, its thier kids/grand kids that they bring with/born here that are the issue.

I'm not just talking about the welfare aspect of it( its still a big part), its the 2nd and 3rd gens that tend to be the scumbags.

One comment that is always made that pisses me off, "they do the work americans don't"

Something else that just drives me up the wall is seeing them drive a nice car/truck.  If some one else is giving you money to buy food+ extra cash, paying for your medical etc.  you can aford to do that.  Where as some one busting thier ass for very little pay can't.

FQ makes a good point comparing it to the drug wars. It won't change because there is too much profit involved. The only difference is it involves the selling of labor instead of illegal narcotics. And the top guys rarely fall because they've got the big money to keep the whole concept in place for their benefit. This is why the problem will never go away. People with money and power don't go to jail easily, and they almost never, "pay for their crimes".

Look who is being slaughtered in the mexican drug wars. It's rarely, if ever the kingpins. They hire out their killing, just as the owners of these companies hire out their cheap labor to illegal invaders. The part about, "They do jobs Americans won't" is very true. We set it up that way. Why should someone work as a bus boy for $3.50 an hour when they can collect $350.00 a week or more on Unemployment, or Welfare. We are creating the jobs for these illegals by paying our own citizens to sit on their a$$es. Again, one of the "benefits" of an entitlement society Hussein has been trying to shove down our throats the last 2 years.   Bill T.
