Rice for GOP VP?

Mid-day news floats Condi Rice as a possible McCain choice for Vice Prez. CBS must like her. Anybody familiar with her 2A position? Mac.

Now I am depressed.   Condi Rice is not a good choice.   Ask yourself:  IS SHE QUALIFIED TO BE PRESIDENT IF MCCAIN DIES IN OFFICE?

Is Bush qualified? Are any of them qualified? I really DO have reservations about Rice, though. First off, she's never been elected to anything that I know of (that may actually be a PLUS for her!). She has been Bush's Foreign Policy advisor since day one and look where that's gotten us.

On the other hand- you never know who can do the job 'till the boots hit the ground.

Remember a few years ago she came out in favor of individual gun rights. She recalled growing up in segregated south. Think this was in American Rifleman.

Exactly.  This current crop makes my skin crawl.   Has it come to the point where no one worth a darn wants the job?

We should use a volunteer military and draft  qualified people to manage the country (Regardless of what THEY think they are NOT our leaders, they are our REPRESENTATIVES, servants of the PEOPLE, If you represented your employer the way they represent us you would be out on your ear !) The kind of ego maniacs who actively seek these elective offices are no different than school shooters, they just find a different outlet for their lust for publicity.

Who was the last one that was "qualified" in your opinions and how did he do??  Not to be a smarty pants but it's really all subjective.  I can't think of anyone who really was able to get both domestic and foreign right off the get go.

I also don't think Condi is interested.  She showed no interest previously when she was mentioned as a possible POTUS candidate.  These last 8 years have been pretty tough for her.

I think the VEEP is going to be someone who is youngish (45-early 60's) and can appeal to conserv's and independents.  When I find that person I'll let all of you know :D

She is a HELL of a lot more qualified than either Clinton or Obama!  In fact, I'd vote for Condi over McCain without a moment's hesitation. She is very strong on the 2nd Amendment, telling about her father who defended the family from Klan attacks during the 50's with a gun.
