I am becoming my parents and grandparents
« on: November 08, 2010, 11:24:26 AM »
I have been watching the Obamas on their India tour.  It is hard to say what the entire message is because we only get what the media wants us to get, but I believe they are sending some strong messages in the actions.

As I age I believe more and more about what I was taught, or exposed to for osmosis to take care of, that our actions speak louder than our words.  I also am disturbed by how our "leaders" do not pay attention to the details of their actions.

The Obamas look more like they are at a neighborhood cocktail party or winding down at home in the evening in their attire.  As official representatives of the United States of America, and as the actual leader of the nation, is it wrong to expect the President to keep his tie tied and his suit coat on ... you remember - that piece of cloth with the American flag on the lapel, while he is speaking to students and other groups?  Every photo or video I see the students are dressed better than Mr. and Mrs. BHO!

Secondly, in our nation we have done our best to remove symbolism and the message sent by it.  One of the stories I read today is that Mrs. Obama met with young girls under a tree that represents Budah ...

Quote
Mrs. Obama greeted the 10- to 14-year-olds under a peepal tree, a tree of worship considered the personification of Buddha in India.

Why would a person that claims a strong Christian faith utilize a strong Budist symbol as a part of their visit?

We can argue all day about what the depth of the First Amendment mean, but we can not deny that our founding fathers were men of faith at varying levels.  They openly professed their faith, and they included it in their proceedings while forming our government.  I fear that with each generation we are getting closer to screaming "typo," and changing that little word "of" in the First Amendment to "from."  Once that is done the sandblasters will descend on Washington D.C., erase the words of the founders, and we will have a rewritten history.

Our offices and our message are becoming so diluted that we are beginning to appear that we don't or won't stand for anything.  And, in my world dilute is just another word for weak!

Rant off ... for now  >:(
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

I'm the same way.
As I have read more history and learned more about the spread of Marxism in America I made the comment to my Dad that FDR was a "damned Communist". Dad laughed at me, and said "You sound just like Grampy (His Grandfather ) Lee"
My Grand Father (Dad's Dad ) how ever thought "the sun rose and set  in Franklin's ass".  ;D
