And I stand corrected on the Mossy front. Thank God. I have to say though, I do like my Maverick "Leetle Friend". Still, I would have ponyed up the extra $150 or so had I known. I thought it was the same gun with a different label. My bad. :-[
FQ13 who will research more thoroughly in the future. Again, I screwed up here. Just got sweet talked into into it by an old gunsmith. Always, always research. :-\

Don't sweat it FQ, If it's a good gun, that does what you need , then it's a good gun for your needs.
The best 1911 I have ever shot is my Rock Island, made in the Philippines, it's more accurate and reliable than any of the Colt's, Auto Ord, Llama, or (Brazilian) Springfield's, I've shot or owned

"Parts" can come from anywhere. We live in a global economy. Sub contracting is much more prevalent today than it was 30 years ago when everything was manufactured "in house". This is why it really doesn't matter much where these guns are built, but rather HOW. Weatherby and Browning are both manufactured in Japan. Both are some of the finest non custom firearms produced today. The whole concept of "Made in America to save American jobs", is falling by the wayside in having any credible meaning any longer. Springfield's are being built in Brazil by Imbel, one of the largest, most modern gun manufacturers in the world. Weatherby and Browning are both being made, and have been made by Miroku in Japan. Glocks in Austria. XD's in Croatia. The list is endless. Even guns that are advertised as "made here", are assembled from parts made elsewhere. That in itself doesn't change the fact that a $2,500.00 Les Baer made in Iowa is going to surpass the quality of a $400.00 Rock Island made in the Philippine Islands.  Bill T.

My Beretta 92-FS is an Italian made gun. But many of the M-9 Beretta's, and some 92's are made in Accokeek, Maryland.  Bill T.

Mines from Ft Lauderdale, FL.....

 ;)

They just moved to NC, right outside of Charlotte. Took advantage of the tax incentives, and property was cheaper.

Your right billt, Used to work for a dealership that sold Four Winns boats, Volvo (Swedish) engines, were a Ford Block, Japanese wire harness, assembled in Mexico, and shipped as a complete engine, to an "American Made" boat company....
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Last time I looked at an "All American" Harley Davidson, guy was giving me crap about the "Jap" Kawasaki I had, I told him, "flip up your seat" sure enough the wiring and fuel lines were covered in Japanese writing. Both of my Kawi's were built in the US.  ;D

I knew you were brave Tom, what with being a Marine and all. Still, I wouldn't have the stones to walk into a Harley dealer and ask a guy to "flip up his seat". ;D
