I was living in Kalifornia at the time of this, but family that lived in Northern Minnesota have told me about the football game being broken into with emergency messages for all Coast Guard and emergency personal to report to Duluth immediately.
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

RIP Mates!  Fair winds in your final resting place.

Having grown to manhood in the Great Lake State, I can attest to the fury the the lakes can churn during a strong storm.  I was in boot camp in Florida on November 10, 1975 but the Chief knew I was a Michigan boy and gave a few of us the news of the loss.

Never underestimate the power of nature!
