Seems the RINO, non-leader of the RNC, Michael Steele is not liked for his re-election bid for RNC chair.

Steele's Support to Remain RNC Chief Fades Fast
Thursday, 11 Nov 2010 06:05 PM

Support for Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele is shrinking quickly among committee members as he contemplates running for a second term. Even some of his closest supporters are urging him to step down, the National Journal reports.

Steele, RNC, chairman, Rove, GillespieBetween 40 and 50 of the 168 RNC members back Steele, while another 40 to 50 definitely will vote for someone else, knowledgeable strategists say. The remaining members are undecided, the observers say.

Meanwhile, a group led by star strategists Karl Rove and Ed Gillespie is searching for a popular candidate who can beat Steele.

Although they haven’t agreed on a challenger yet and likely won’t come up with a consensus choice, strategists who both support and oppose Steele say coalitions are forming now to prevent him from gaining a second term.

Steele is a schmuck, a self-serving RINO, and not a leader. Kinda like a similar community organizer currently in the White House.

He learned his politics from Charlie Crist and Lindsey Graham, and isn't worthy of a second term....

If it wasn't for the Tea Party, the Conservatives would STILL be a minority.

They better "get it", and get rid of Steele.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

Oh for God's sake! TW, this guy is a combination of Clarence Thomas and Joe Biden. I defy any single board member to argue that either Steele or Thomas would hold their post if they weren't black, and the GOP wasn't involved in a PR stunt. I also defy anyone to say the GOP leadership doesn't regard Steele with about as much affection as Rahm Emmanuel regards Joe Biden. ;D The guy is a schmuck. He was chosen by affirmative action and could only do more damage to the GOP if James Carrville shoved his hand up Steele's ass and spoke for him. And some of Steele's quotes? I doubt Carville could have done worse. DUMP THIS GUY! I am no fan of either party, but Steele is painful to watch. Bring Hailey Barbour back. He may have been a bit corrupt (but he is from Mississippi, so allowances need to made ;)), but he did know what he was doing. Steele? Just say no. He's a professional embarassment.

They had 4 possibilities for the job, Micheal Steele was the only non gun owner of the 4 he needs to go.

THIS worries me more.....I don't want Rove anywhere near the GOP leadership b/c of the way he "moderated" Bush's policies.

Why not Sarah Palin?  Steele demonstrated that you don't have to be a rocket scientist to hold the job, and Palin's a lot smarter, better spoken, and easier on the eyes than him.....

While I certainly agree that Sarah is easy on the eyes, (and a darned sight more intelligent than given credit for) she is also a monstrously polarizing personality.  No, it's not her fault.  The Lame Stream Media demonize her beyond all understanding.  Still, many in our country know only what Tina Fay has shown them in her Saturday Night Live skits.

Hailey, on the other hand, is a respectable (and respected) choice.  He'd get my vote.  If Sarah assumes the mantle of leadership for the Republican Party, I'm afraid we conservatives lose any opportunity to regain a leadership position in 2012.  No, it's not fair, but I'm jus' sayin'...

I have to agree with CR.
While there should be no room for RINO's who "want to reach across the aisle" Palin is a "love her or hate her" personality.
The fact that she seems to be one of the best of the bunch is over shadowed by the knee jerk reaction she inspires in the shallow thinkers.

Maybe so, but Palin campaigned for a bunch of Tea Party candidates and the vast majority won. So I'm not sure how polarizing she really is vs. just driving the media nuts causing them the vent giving that impression.

ske1eter,
I did specify shallow thinkers, mention of the LSM is kind of redundant.

Sarah as NRPC chairman, is interesting, but Pete Sessions is also on my short list, Steele looked good coming out of the gate, but came up short in the long run, skin color aside, when I heard his 1st message it seemed very positive, but as life go's by, not so much. He definitely needs replacing, his message is really weak, reaching across the aisle, means, why do we have 2 parties to begin with. As much as I would like to 3 parties, it is not going to happen anytime soon, so I stick with the repubs, as good or bad as they may be, Texas, used to be a democratic state, because our demo's where conservative, but no more, just like Reagan and Phil Graphm said, I did not leave my party, my party left me. There are a lot of dems out there that are conservative, unfortunately, voting for them is taking a chance, be sure, they are as true as you think they are, no difference with a repub, either can stray, that is the chance we take.

Palin IS polarizing and hated by the MSM...those are her two best qualities. No more RINO squishes that blur the differences b/t the two parties. THAT is what the voters want.
