Rob Pincus Makes Good!
« on: November 17, 2010, 08:01:23 PM »
(I'm double posting this, just so Rob sees it and knows the board is wishing him well on his success. Please reply to the identical topic in the cafe, as I have an inkling that this one will get wildly off topic. ;D)
Still, this one is for Rob.

Oh, Rob. You have no idea how much self restraint I'm showing.  Today, I opened my mail. What did I see but the latest NRA solicitation. What should be inside but a DVD from Advanced Combat Shooting and Self Defense Tips!  I will note that the NRA did put a half page (glowing, but there, disclaimer), but there is Rob Pincus with his system. With a DVD representing the NRA. Way to go Rob! Kudos!. You done good, and I wish you the joy of your success along with every other board member.
I haven't viewed the DVD, but this is a big deal, and I hope it pays off for you. I WILL watch the DVD and probably learn from it. Congrats on your sucess. Just remember. If you ever have to utter the words "Get your paws off of me, you damn dirty ape"! (at least in earnest) You're probably not being paid enough.

Post in the cafe M58, because I forsee where this one is going. Rob won't like it. Still, its good to see one of ours posted as a reason to reup. I am already two years in advance, and they offer Pincus as a reason to send more dinero. Much better than a hat IMHO. ;D

Well... Yeah, a review of the contents would've been better for this forum... BUT:

Thanks Much!  I am very proud of the fact that the NRA sees fit to distribute the PFD Video Series.

I'm not qualified to review. You are. What are the most important points? What can be glossed over? Where are we getting the bare essentials and need to study/practice more? It was a great vid. Where do we move on, what should we practice, and where do we go from here?

The name of this thread through me off. I thought it be something like "Rob Pincus makes good biscuits".

I don't bake..... I don't even teach based on an outline, I certainly am not going to cook in a way that requires obedience to a recipe!

Meanwhile,FQ, it's all important... it is only an hour or so long!!!  If you buy my book, however, you can skip the forewords and the acknowledgements if you want to.. they aren't that important. ;)

I think you're looking for Tony Bourdain! A mystery writer, chef  and bastard scion of Hunter Thompson. "Kitchen Confidential" is a trip. He has this show on the travel channel where he winds up in various countries and eats his way through guided by various local political and social malcontents (Spain with Civil War vetrans and the like). The man knows his food, and is more than comfortable with violence (cuilinary and otherwise, I mean he advocates things like tripe and pigs ears. I say good for him, waste not want not).. The segment on Cambodia where you could go to a range and rent an RPG was classic. Very much a DRTV outing. ;DIf Ted Nugent was a chef, you'd have this show.
