If you don't want to pass through an airport scanner that allows security agents to see an image of your naked body or to undergo the alternative, a thorough manual search, you may have to find another way to travel this holiday season.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is warning that any would-be commercial airline passenger who enters an airport checkpoint and then refuses to undergo the method of inspection designated by TSA will not be allowed to fly and also will not be permitted to simply leave the airport.

That person will have to remain on the premises to be questioned by the TSA and possibly by local law enforcement. Anyone refusing faces fines up to $11,000 and possible arrest.

"Once a person submits to the screening process, they can not just decide to leave that process," says Sari Koshetz, regional TSA spokesperson, based in Miami.

Koshetz said such passengers would be questioned "until it is determined that they don't pose a threat" to the public.

No one will be forcibly searched or arrested "just because they refuse to go through the security procedures," Barbera said. "That may rise to the level of suspicious behavior for the TSA, but it wouldn't rise to the level of suspicious behavior for a deputy," she said.

But Barbera said that if a person is judged to be a possible threat, deputies are legally permitted to detain and search that individual. "The deputies will do it at the airport just as they would do it anywhere else," she said.

Once cleared by the TSA and deputies, the people will be allowed to leave, she said.

I already know I will not submit to the X-ray or grope so why would I buy a ticket? While I am in total disgust and disagreement I know what is required to get past security and if someone gets that far they either have cold feet or evil intent if they refuse the assault!

Some folks have to submit to air travel, however, this might just be the end of the casual traveler in this country.  I haven't flown for years myself.  For no other reason other than I just don't like it, never have.  I flew for business for 11 or 12 years and I just grew tired of it.  The people, the service, the inconvenience, etc.

I'm done, completely.  Control, that's been said before but, it's spot on the mark.

Control the sheep, control the flock.

Safety is a myth.....we're on our own people, the Gubment ain't gonna get it done...

I try not to use this word much, but, when dealing with airlines/TSA I say f-k'em....I'll drive.
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

Let's see how the climate of business changes,.....instead of "I'll see you in three hours",...I'll rent a car and see you on Tues.

Looks like Amtrak, Rental Cars, and this BS of "Presumed Guilt, until groped and proven otherwise", pans out.

They still have the "bar car" on trains...... ;) Greyhound has worked for decades, although carrying on the bus is not a bad idea sometimes.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

Amtrack and grey hound have a very strick no guns, period rules.  that includes checked bags.

I was going to take the train north a few years back for a hunting trip.  One of those deals where no "close" comm'l airports and the train with a cabin was cheaper then gas was for driving and it would take about the same time.  Every thing was great until I asked about checked firearm procedure.

I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.
