Hero cat saves Peacehaven woman
2:10pm Monday 22nd November 2010

By Katy Rice »

A hero cat saved a woman from a flat blaze after pawing her face and saying get miaow-t.

The 17-year-old puss, Tizzy, swiped sleeping Michelle Prince on the nose after curtains in her Peacehaven home caught fire.

Shop worker Michelle, 41, who said she owed her life to the marvellous mog, said: “She is a hero because she really did save my life. I know I would have just slept on because it was the middle of the night and the whole bedroom would have gone up. I've got four shelves full of soft toys and a basket of washing next to the window and they could easily have caught fire next. I dread to think what would have happened.”

Michelle, of Fairfield, in Sutton Avenue, managed to put out the flames, which had been caused by a heater under the curtains, before calling firefighters.

“I’ve lived the literal meaning of the ‘land of the free’ and ‘home of the brave.’ It’s not corny for me. I feel it in my heart. I feel it in my chest. Even at a ball game, when someone talks during the anthem or doesn’t take off his hat, it pisses me off. I’m not one to be quiet about it, either.”  Chris Kyle

I had a snarky comment....but...I'm lettin' this'un alone........................... (for now).
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

"When it comes to the enemy, just because they ain't pullin' a trigger, doesn't mean they ain't totin' ammo for those that are."~PegLeg

The 17-year-old puss,

How old is that in feline years??? ::)

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.
