Reminds me of a funy story about my late lamented stepdad. On Christmas Eve, the ironing board breaks. There was a party that night and my Mom needed to iron her dress. So he goes to Sears to buy a new one. He said he got the stink eye and hissed at from every woman in the store. He thought about asking to get it gift wrapped, but decided he wanted to leave with his balls intact. ;D

I bought a vacuum cleaner last Spring, Did not understand why I got so many glares until some one mentioned that the next day was Mothers Day.  ;D Heck my Mom lives in Fl. I sent the card and stuff a couple weeks earlier and forgot about it  ;D
I DID buy the Ex wife a sewing machine for Christmas one year, but that was ONLY because she took me into the store before hand and said I want that one. (I don't know why, she never sewed a damn thing  ::)  )
