OUR Gov't at work....  >:(

Granted she stood up to them, "I fought the law, and the law won",....But .could she not have offered some humble profanities and dump it? what the well ran dry? Breast Milk, like any other has a shelf life, if not kept refrigerated.

She chose her battle bravely, but against the TSA dumbass, undertrained, underpaid idiots, she lost by missing her flight.

It will take her and thousands like her, for them to "get it"....

Phoenix to LA? I'll bet next time she takes a train or drives.

Stupid this kind of BS happens.

She's an idiot to fight with people who have no say over the rules.
She's not taking a stand, she's just being a bitch.

We all know the TSA are mostly idiots who have let a little authority go to their little heads with mostly over-bearing and useless rules.

Was the TSA overstepping by not knowing or following their own rules for the milk? YES.

Was the mother mostly right in principle? YES.

Did it have to go down like it did? NO, she chose to make a stand, and while I give her much credit for sticking to her guns, like Tom mentioned, it was really useless at that particular point and only hurt her.

I mean don't get me wrong, I'm all for standing up to stupid rules, but you have to chose the battleground so that you don't end up being the only one hurt (ie, missing the flight).
I mean really, breast milk? The argument in the video was she needed to carry the milk on the flight to have it ready for the 7 month old to feed when she got home.......... I may be missing something here (and if I am please forgive me) but why couldn't she dump the milk, get on the plane, and let the kid just drink straight from the "tap" when she got home? Unless the people were going through x-ray machines off camera somewhere she shouldn't have been effected.
I'm not being snarky, just asking.

Anyway, looks like the best way to avoid delays with the TSA is to throw everything on the x-ray belt, strip off ALL your clothes and toss them on there too, walk through TOTALLY NEKKID, stop and take a dump on the TSA dude's shoe (to show you ain't packin') and wipe your ass with his pants leg (extra credit if you use his tie instead).
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

+1 your spot on, she bravely took a stand with a bureaucratic bunch of minions, that can't think outside of the box, follow their own rules, and basically take a fly by night(or day) approach to OUR security, and ultimately missed her flight.

A collective uprising, just like the 5 year old that used a crayon to draw a gun and gets suspended,,,,,, or the kid who had a flag on his bicycle, were dealing with idiots.

She may have chosen the wrong place to fight the TSA, but it is at least a precedent for the stupidity of our gov't...Right up there with groping a nun.... At least the girl who wore a bikini, was smiling...

Plus, most babies prefer it from the tap.  ::)

This is one of those times when it doesn't matter that you are right, TSA won and she missed her flight. How safe are we because they refused to allow her explosives...breast milk to bypass the x-ray?

Normally I don't disagree with your assessment. This time however, I do.

For one thing, where else do you take a stand with the TSA, it's not like we deal with them day to day. Secondly, having their own list of rules right there printed out for them to read, is being prepared for someone who may or may not know. In other words, she was prepared for their ignorance. Lastly, and my main point, law enforcement are allowed a little latitude in their jobs, and are expected to use their own judgment based on the situation, I have a hard time believing that the guidelines are so ridged for these clowns that they cannot use a little common sense and real world judgment.

I suppose my real point is that if you do not take a stand at the time of the transgression then if you try to come back, it makes you look like it wasn't a problem at the time. You say that the TSA "inspectors" are not the ones to fight against, but who else do you go to?
