I wonder if they intend to destroy the Star of David, or the entire building.  Perhaps once the symbol is removed, the building will  become a legitimate target for the I.D.F. when the inevitable war starts.

Along the same lines, the barracks at Naval Station Coronado are in the shape of a swastika.  Up until Google Earth cam around no one knew anything about it.
