The swastika was originally an American Indian symbol (and quite at home in Colorado) until Hitler used it and put a stigma on it.

Even funnier is if the star wasn't intended but actually has some engineering reason for existing.  So when they tear it down, the building collapses or the A/C stops working or something.

Inteligent people understand that and just chuckled and pressed on.  The knuckle-tards in Coronado blew a freaking gasket and wanted the Navy to demolish and rebuild them.  Pretty sad for a place that only exists because of the bases and is populated by retired Captains and Admirals.

TAB is right, Hitler got the idea to use it from a Nordic Good luck symbol he saw in the decorations of a Church.
That's why it was the National marking on their air craft in WWII.
