Ruger SR556C question
« on: December 11, 2010, 02:13:33 PM »
I just ordered an SR556C which should arrive early next week. I've also ordered a Cavalry Arms C1 stock with which I am going to switch out the factory stock because I'm just not a fan of collapsible stocks. Have any of you done this or know someone who installed a fixed stock on any of the SR556 models? Were there any problems? Thanks in advance for any assistance. tf

Hello tranefan, great to see another NC member, (man do I miss Wilmington & Mooresville) :-\ Checked some Ruger forum posts, came across some stock change advice. I have the Sig556, prior to the SR, but have shot the SR, I hope this may help.

Welcome to DRTV, Michael Bane, did a review of the SR556, (as well as the Sig556, which is why I bought one in 08) ;), perhaps he'll chime in to offer his valuable two cents.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

No experience with the Cav Arms stock on a SR556 but I put an Ace stock on one for a buddy and it worked just fine. It uses the full length A1 style fixed receiver extension so there shouldn't be any real difference.
