Winter has arrived
« on: December 16, 2010, 02:55:33 PM »
Snowin' like hell here...it has been the coldest December I can remember and I'm dreading those heating bills. Maybe they'll wait like they did last year.

Gotta go sing tonight too...sometimes the cold weather gets a good crowd out because I'm set up right next to a great big gas log. Everybody likes the gas log, the food, the drinkies, and the old school tunes. I just hope almost everyone doesn't buy me a drink like last week. It was a long ride home.
I got the blues as my companion.

Poor baby!!!!!   ::)  ::)  ::)

We had flurries last night, maybe 6". On top of the 3-4" we got last week, on top of the 12" we got 2.5 weeks ago. At least it's lightweight fluffy stuff that the snowblower just loves to toss about 75 feet. Cool show.

And our high for the day was MINUS 2 last Monday.

Suck it up, Jazzman! And play your frost-bit heart out tonight!!!!   ;D

Our town has a small dump with blade for snow control. They run the streets twice, then you're on your own. Two inches and people lose their minds...it's like driving in Florida after a rain storm.

THAT's what I'm talking about! Warm weather for old bones. Why do you think the bones are blue?

We got back from Yuma earlier this week, temps around 80 but got to see plenty of snow coming back over the Sierras and expecting another 8 feet this weekend.

Rain and cold here for the next week.

Went to J&G in Prescott on the way home and over the new bridge at Hoover Dam.....big disappointment as you can't see anything of the bridge or beyond the high concrete walls on both sides, can't even see the traffic in the other lane.

A winter storm warning for heavy snow and gusty winds continues to be in effect until 4 p.m. Monday. The heaviest snow is expected late tonight through Sunday when snowfall rates could reach 2-4 inches per hour. Snowfall totals of 5-10 feet are likely in the Sierra above 7,000 feet. With near zero visibility and strong winds at times, the National Weather Service is suggesting motorists consider postponing travel plans to avoid dangerous conditions.
