Seasons Greeting
« on: December 19, 2010, 02:45:06 PM »
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2011, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere.

Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington. Anyone who practices that type of holiday is one sorry feelin' individual.

I'll take environmentally un-conscious, socially irresponsible, bring on the stress and addictive substances, opposite sex under the mistletoe holiday any time over that vanilla.

Merry Christmas to one and to all.

And the appropriate reply is

Bite  Me!

I celebrate Christmas and Easter, and I will say "Merry Christmas" and "Christ is Risen"

You don't like it, you can greet me in your way on your special days.

I can understand a store putting up signs that say "Happy Holiday's", 3 of the years biggest come within 6 weeks of each other and changing the advertising would be a PITA.
But the rest are just practicing PC BS. To them I say get over it, Toy companies took over the Holy day dcades ago and if you can't stand being nice to people for one crummy month then have the decency to STFU so the rest of us can. You can always get really sh!tfaced on New Years and have a hang over that gives you an excuse to be a miserable pr!ck the week after.
Merry f*cking CHRISTMAS !

If it's around Christmas, I will wish you a Merry Christmas.  If I happen to wish you a Happy Holiday, it's probably around Columbus Day, Presidents' Day, Ground Hog Day, or some other such trifle.

"He is risen," sounds about right for Easter.*

Even at a ball game, when someone talks during the anthem or doesn’t take off his hat, it pisses me off. I’m not one to be quiet about it, either.”  Chris Kyle
