I like it here because two old fat gun nuts can meet on line (that just sounds wrong somehow), talk a little on the phone, and then meet at the Pizza Hut in a snow storm to share "clips."  ;D

I have said this before, but I meet many many great guys at anything shooting, and this place is almost like the local range - only quieter.  I have a lot of fun here, and I have enjoyed personal visits with many of you!

P.S.
Sorry for the delay in typing this, but Iowa Boy just interrupted me with an update:  It has taken him three hours to make a two hour drive, and now he is driving 5 mph on our beautiful Twin Cities loop.  This is what you get when you let an Iowa driver loose on Minnesota roads in December!

That was too funny. I go to arfcom to buy/sell/trade and post here and there on the Florida forum but when it comes to talking to people about firearms and related topics I come here for the reasons these videos show.

DRTV is considered a 'mainstream' forum because of the mention it gets on several of the OC shows and such. I've noted before that for a forum of this style there is a relatively low member count. I've also noticed that many of the "top" forums have two to three times the membership than that of DRTV.

HOWEVER, I feel this is because the DRTV forum kind of 'self-polices' itself....and by that I mean the "puffed-up chest-thumpers" don't hang around here long. The folks that do hang around for the duration tend to be those types that have solid info to offer and contribute to good conversation without 95% of the 'crap' that floats around on many other forums.

I say thank you to those who participate and contribute to what is, IMHO, a top-notch place to hang out.

I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

Well written Peg Leg.
Philw put me on to this forum a while back now and while not  prolific poster I do enjoy the content. I also think its rather cool that people from 2 countries can share so much similar philosophy in regards to what we love to do and that is shoot. Similar ideals, thoughts, regards, morals and political views. Its also interesting to find that we also have similar enjoyment of a tall story or two and dont mind having a laugh at the expense of one another, some people are so serious and politically correct these days I just feel like screaming.
keep up the good work gents and ladies.

I like the DRTV forum because I can share the pain of seeing Haz's toes with a very tolerant group. and that's not even because of political correctness! (actually, probably only tolerated because the pho-toes all include gun porn) :)   ;)
honestly, I wouldn't give out personal info or trust most people I meet online, but feel enough trust here to seek out and meet other forum members. heck, what's the worst that could happen?  :D

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
