Quote
A man who posted a YouTube video of himself going 195 miles per hour on the Kilpatrick Turnpike in Oklahoma City found himself under arrest.

Troopers arrested Dee Albert Replogle Monday after the Oklahoma Highway Patrol received an e-mail complaint about the YouTube video. In the video, the driver is seen speeding in and around the Edmond and Oklahoma City area in a super-charged Corvette.

After seeing the video, Colonel Van Guillotte asked the investigations unit to see if they could locate the person driving.

"I was extremely concerned with Mr. Replogle's reckless driving and thought the YouTube posts might encourage others to do the same thing in order to garner attention," Guillotte says. "Our roadways are absolutely no place for this type of dangerous driving behavior or stunts."

Troopers were able to find Replogle and obtained statements indicating he was the owner, driver and personally responsible for the YouTube posts. He was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail Monday on two complaints of reckless driving.

look at the dnyo graph... lol  its one of the pics

I don't beleave the 26 psi. he claims either...  it takes LOTS AND LOTS of work to make a motor handle that much PSI, let alone stay toegther for any length of time.

he says alot of stuff on the ebay listing.  alot of hog wash...

Not hard (just $$$) to build a 1000hp car.....but you don't need that much hp to go that fast on the open road either .......just the right trans and a good rearend set up......(I have an S-10 that was clocked at 147mph and all it had was a little 327 Chevy motor)..

  ;D   JMHO....FWIW.

Agree with that too. 26psi is a lot on an engine.....14-16 would sound better.....and on many engines that pushes it for a car.

He going fast, but no way 195 MPH. This is an onboard of Michael Schumacher hot lapping Suzuka in Japan in 2006, back when Ferrari had the V-10's. If you watch at the 1:25 mark in the video he hits 7th gear on the main straight. That puts him at right around 190 MPH at 17,700 RPM, give or take. No way this guy was going anywhere near that fast.  Bill T.

Amazing stats for this ride. :o

This was always a favorite of mine........

Quote
Starting with Callaway Corvette # 88-051, the crew that Callaway Cars enlisted began to formulate their plans according to Reeves’ ideas. These plans included Engine, Suspension, interior and, body all in a package to demonstrate and make a statement about Callaways capabilities.

From its four bolt “Bowtie Block” to the special pistons and rods inside, to the Brodix heads atop the block, the engine was hand built for maximum power and extreme durability. The goal of the car would have you thinking that the engine was radical. However, remembering Reeves’ goal of civility, the car is docile in traffic, much thanks to the cam, which was kept not that aggressive. The engines packaging was tight, especially with the two large turbos saddling the oil pan. The turbo intercoolers were moved from the normal location (one on either side of the intake manifold) to up to the front, behind the bumper area. The relocation of the intercoolers also mandated a special designed hood to clear all the equipment. The turbos selected were Turbonetics T04b units set at 22psi, with a cockpit adjustable boost control dial. Engine power was rated at (a conservative) 898 horsepower @ 6200 rpm with 772 lb-ft of torque @ 5250 rpm which ultimately brought the vehicle above its 250 mph goal.

It should also be noted, Callaway Cars built the engine that powered the Sledgehammer to its record running pass. To set the record straight, while true that another developed engines for the car, Reeves Callaway himself assured me last summer, it was his engine in the car.
