I agree that our Government is responsible for the problem we face; the really sad thing is I believe it is not because of incompetence, but by design. The power hungry politicians know that the more dependent's they let into our country, the more people need them to take care of them. On the flip side the more free independent people there are the less they are needed and they have less power to control people.

The border is only part of it, it runs much deeper just look at the junk they pass and sign into law, most of which is designed to give people stuff and create more government dependent's and reduce the amount of people who can take care of themselves and don’t need them.

That is the whole reason they only talk about solving problems and pass junk that only makes it worse, because if the problems were really solved there would be very little need for them. The amount of B.S. that comes out of the politicians in Washington could cover the earth 100 times over!

There is an absoutely wonderful Libertarian Sci-fi novel called "An Enemy of the State" by F. Paul Wilson. It should be required reading for all forum members. It basically details a succesful revolution against a corrupt socialist government by means of attacking their worthless fiat currency (sound familiar?). Anyway to paraphrase, there is a great line in the book that deals exactly with your point. "On the day that 51% of the population derived the greater part of their income fom the state, the politicians had a celebration. The public was not invited". Enough said.

It's just a dang shame that the Feds won't do their job and protect and lock down our porous border. If things don't change, many innocent Americans are likely to face dangers, death and harm that is far worse than any armed drug lords. I pray that all who are protecting our borders remain safe and that they can avoid deadly shootouts with those well armed illegal thugs.

After enough American's die because of this there will be a backlash. Remember the Klan lynching blacks ? That also was caused by politicians serving their own interests. It is always the same, whether it's Hitler scapegoating the Jews, or the French nobility doing the same to Protestants, or the Democrats trying to build a Hispanic voting base on illegals or welfare recipients. And they are always surprised when their grand vision collapses in bloodshed.
The only good thing is that they, like Mussolini, usually join the innocent who are slaughtered in the cross fire.

In Iraq we and the Iraqi people would have been best served by the killing of just Saddam and the Baathist leaders. Nazi Germany the same way, millions of lives would have been saved by a few selective killings.
But that just isn't "civilized" is it ?
