FN Five Seven 5.7x28mm
« on: March 24, 2007, 08:38:07 PM »
Anyone out here have an FN Five Seven?  They seem to be getting hard to find and big brother has eliminated some of the ammo.....so I just had to go out and buy one today.  Any performance issues for the firearm?  I think it might be a good backup for varmint hunting.....

It's fun to shoot...I have one of the older pistols and I/ve put 500 rounds or so through it. Feels like a .22 Magnum...you can run it real quick. I've seen the LEO post-shooting reports, but I still worry about the ballistics of the cartridge...

I can certainly tinker something together up on DOWN RANGE when I catch my breath. I'm also goingto the annaul FNH shoot at the NRA Show in a couple of weeks, I'll I get some 5.7 video there as well.

BTW, I use a Blade-Tech holster with the 5.7.

Thanks, I'll give that Blade-Tech a lookkee see.  I'm wondering what I can do handloading with it...maybe see about a can for it...that oughta pick up a good 100+ fps.  Lask week I was outside Farmington, NM with a friend exercising my 10 MM and his .243 WSSM...the extra shots may have been helpful.  That 10 ran out too quick whilst trying to zero in on a jackrabbit.....with the extra velocity may help compensate for some poor judgement on distance.  I'm getting stoked try to call up some varmints next time I'm out there and I'm going to carry that Five Seven (in a Blad-Tech?) along with the CZ in 22-250...just in case a big tom slips up next to me.
